Notice
board:
$120,000
by May 25th or BUST !
We
have extended the deadline a little because the local vets here are not
ready to take over receiving sick and injured frogs. As the only group
in the country who has found and is tracking new disease problems in Australian
frogs, our absence would create a very big hole. If you care about the
disappearance of frogs, find out more here
The amount
pledged or received so far as part of this campaign is:
$1,175.00 (as of May 8th)
(Thank you!)
If
you have sent a donation and haven't received a receipt, please check
here to see if we have received your donation. If you aren't listed,
then please ring us.
A big thank you also to Natural
Resource Assessments
(our first and still only Gold business sponsor) for renewing their sponsorship
this year!
Have you sent us an email or snail mail that bounced?
Do you have our correct details?
We relocated before Christmas and everything changed.
We are also forced to change our email address regularly because of the
volume of nasty spam that bombards us as soon as our address has started
circulating for awhile. Visit our Contact
page for all the new details.
Licenced
rehabbers from other states who want training
in frog rehab should contact us before early May to arrange for training
in Cairns while we still have animals in care. In the Cairns region, we
encourage vets to seek briefings as the disease problems here are far
too complex for novice carers.
If
we are no longer receiving animals, we will need to move to smaller premises
(with smaller rent). between late June and early August. Homeowners between
Mossman and Innisfail - please check our house
wanted page.
April 11th: FNQ alert: chytrid
fungus is one of the most serious frog diseases on the planet and it has
arrived in Cairns. See our Alerts
page.
Are
you receiving nuisance emails that have our domain name as the sender?
We can assure you, they are not from us. Now that we have a broadband
account, all emails from our organisation will be from the Westnet domain.
Any email you receive with our fdrproject.org or fdrproject.org.au domain
has been "spoofed" by one of those rotten, malicious hackers
out there who have nothing better to do with their talents than cost others
time and money!
